The Promoting Digital Privacy Technologies Act

 

Summary

This bill directs the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to support research into privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and develop voluntary standards for integration of PETs into public and private sector data use to protect sensitive data privacy information while regulating the use of data analysis. The bill also requires the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development Program to submit to Congress a report on the progress of research on privacy-enhancing technologies and the development of specified voluntary resources.
