“The commercial data program supported by the Act is particularly crucial to fostering the growth of commercial weather data acquired from space. By positioning the government to serve as an early anchor tenant for nascent commercial space capabilities, the Act lays the groundwork for a robust capability for weather acquisitions from space, just as NASA’s commercial cargo and commercial crew programs rejuvenated America’s launch industry.” - Care Weather
“Excarta is confident that the provisions in this legislation will allow us to better collaborate with federal agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and pursue meaningful improvements to our weather forecasting skill. By utilizing the expertise of the American weather enterprise, we can better protect lives and property with accurate and timely weather information.” - Excarta
“This bipartisan bill will improve our nation’s weather forecasting capabilities through innovation and partnership. While it reauthorizes important programs started in the Weather Act, this bill also takes steps to improve partnership opportunities at NOAA with new programs to enhance and increase commercial weather data. America is home to a robust and capable commercial sector, and this legislation will allow private industry to support NOAA’s mission to accurately predict our weather.” - FLYHT
