(Washington, D.C.) – House Science, Space, and Technology Committee Chairman Brian Babin issued the following statement after a bipartisan, Committee-wide briefing with representatives from Hugging Face, METR, OpenAI, and Anthropic regarding security incidents initially disclosed by Hugging Face in July, as well as additional incidents reported more recently. The briefing provided Committee members an opportunity to assess these events, their broader implications for AI development and deployment, and potential policy considerations.
