H.R. 5324, the NOAA Weather Radio Modernization Act
Summary
This bill authorizes $20 million to make critical upgrades to the severe weather warning system through repairs to broadcast transmitter sites and antennas. It also authorizes $40 million to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to modernize broadcasts, establish backup capabilities, and enhance signal transmissions so that people across the country have access to severe weather and emergency alerts.
